MAROON 5 frontman ADAM LEVINE is relieved his music career took off - because he was a terrible waiter.

The This Love singer was fired from his job at themed fast-food restaurant Johnny Rocket's after officially working just three hours.

Levine admits he had to wait to make his debut as a waiter - because his first shifts were filled by co-workers.

He recalls, "I trained and then I got the job and then I kept getting my shifts filled, so I didn't actually work there really.

"The manager took me in the back and said, 'Hey man, you haven't worked a day yet... You're fired.'

"I worked about three hours, screwed up about eight orders, got yelled at. I'm the worst waiter in the history of the world."
