LIVE EARTH concerts in Sydney, Tokyo, Shanghai and London are underway, part of a 24-hour extravaganza to raise awareness of climate change.
More than 150 artists are performing at nine concerts in seven continents - all organised by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore.
More than two billion people around the world are expected to follow the events on TV, radio and on the internet.
Among the artists performing around the globe are Madonna, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Madonna, Joss Stone and the reformed Genesis, who opened the London event.
