AS TIME GOES BY 'FINISHED FOR GOOD'

DAME JUDI DENCH and GEOFFREY PALMER have ruled out another series of quintessential British sitcom AS TIME GOES BY, despite its growing popularity in America.

DAME JUDI DENCH

The show's stars are adamant they won't return with another series after bowing out in 2005.

Palmer, 80, says, "Can you believe it? It's huge in America. You could say we're bigger than the Beckhams. It's unbelievable really because it's so British.

"(But) there will never be another series. Judi and I have been asked but we both said no. We wanted to go out on a high. We won't do another."

As Time Goes By charts two former lovers who meet up who unexpectedly and fall back in love.
