PAVAROTTI DISPELS 'DYING' RUMOURS
LATEST: Opera sensation LUCIANO PAVAROTTI has hit out at reports he's close to death, declaring, "I'm doing fine."
The Italian tenor is battling pancreatic cancer and currently wheelchair-bound, and earlier this week (begs02Jul07) his daughter Guiliana allegedly expressed fears her famous father hasn't got long to live.
However, Guiliana has since claimed she was misquoted when she revealed Pavarotti "knows he's going to die soon" to an Italian magazine.
She says, "I was tricked into saying those things. In reality my father is very strong and responding well. His humour is upbeat, he is doing physiotherapy and he is not thinking about dying."
The 71-year-old singer confirms, "I'm doing fine. I am getting better. What do you want me to say? That I'm dead? Well I'm not.
"At the moment I am thinking of the nice fish supper I am going to have tonight."
Pavarotti is currently recuperating from surgery to remove a tumour on his estate near Pesaro, on Italy's Adriatic coast.
