STEWART SLAMS HILTON MEDIA COVERAGE

Musician/producer DAVE STEWART has slammed the current cult of celebrity, insisting he's sick of stars like PARIS HILTON dominating the news.

The EURYTHMICS star has two young daughters with photographer wife Anoushka Fisz and worries they'll grow up influenced by L.A.'s rehab regulars instead of the example of true role models.

Blasting the media hype surrounding Hilton's recent stint in jail, he says, "She should have just gone to prison and that would be the end of it. But we hear more about her than we ever did about Nelson Mandela, for heaven's sake!

"He took me to his cell where he was incarcerated for 28 years - an incredible man whose release was far less talked about than Paris'."
