Senegalese singer YOUSSOU N'DOUR hopes to raise the profile of the conflict in Sudan's Darfur region during this year's Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
The star will take part in a protest at the annual festival on Friday (06Jul07) and is calling on fellow artists Quincy Jones and French singer Diam's to join the march.
He says, "We get the impression that the conflict in Darfur has been put on the back-burner by those in power.
"We have to show that people are outraged at how long it is taking to resolve this conflict that has killed 300,000 people."
