Rockers THE DONNAS have formed their own label in a joint venture with Redeye Distribution.
The all-girl group plans to release a new album, the band's third, on the label in September (07).
The new venture comes after The Donnas parted ways with Atlantic Records last year (06).
Bass player Maya Ford tells Billboard.com the group's split from Atlantic gave them an incentive to complete the new album the way they wanted.
She says, "I wouldn't say we did much of anything different after leaving Atlantic, though it helped that we had more time than we've ever had before to write it. It was very liberating not to have a deadline."
