BROWN DENIES BEING MUGGING VICTIM BUT POLICE DISAGREE

Rapper FOXY BROWN has denied she was mugged by four thieves in the early hours of Saturday (23Jun07) morning, despite New York City police reports to the contrary.

Police claim Brown - real name Inga Marchand - lost $500 (GBP250), credit cards and a Louis Vuitton bag when she was robbed at 5.30am in Brooklyn.

Cops have charged Roshawn Anthony, 23, with robbery.

But Brown insists she wasn't mugged, telling the New York Post, "A lot of the time, people mistake me for someone else, or people always call in these false tips."

Earlier this month (Jun07), Brown's probation report was restored to good standing after she passed required drug tests and attended all court-mandated anger management classes.

She was sentenced to three years probation in 2004 for attacking two manicurists in a New York nail salon.
