O'CONNOR BEMOANS 'CURSE' OF FAME + GOOD LOOKS

Irish singer SINEAD O'CONNOR blames the 'curse' of fame and her good looks for ruining her music career.

Sinead O'Connor

The outspoken Nothing Compares 2 U star, who has long voiced her dissatisfaction with the recording industry, believes celebrity and beauty are an explosive mix.

She says, "Fame and beauty together have proved to be a curse for me. Fame especially. It's the reason I keep leaving the game. I find it painful, I really do.

"To be a good artist you need to be terrible sensitive. If you are sensitive than you're not well-suited to the vileness of the music industry.

"If you don't do what you're told all the time, everyone treats you as a difficult f**king artist."
