ISLE OF WIGHT FEST KICKS OFF WITH A 'LEGENDARY' START

A massive statue of late rocker JIMI HENDRIX is welcoming fans to this year's Isle of Wight Festival in England.

The festival, which first launched in 1968 with Jefferson Airplane at the top of the bill, kicked off yesterday (8June07) with Northern Irish rockers Snow Patrol.

Amy Winehouse and Kasabian play today and legendary rockers The Rolling Stones will end the show with a bang on Sunday (10Jun07).
