SPECTOR JURY SHOWN BLOODY GUN

LATEST: The jury at the PHIL SPECTOR murder trial has been shown the blood-caked revolver found at the feet of actress Lana Clarkson.

Detective Mark Lillienfeld took the stand at the Los Angeles trial yesterday (05Jun07) and wore gloves as he held up the snub-nosed Colt Cobra gun for the jurors to see.

Prosecutors allege Spector used the firearm, which was not registered to and has never been properly linked to the 67-year-old, to kill Clarkson in the foyer of his Alhambra, California mansion.

Spector denies the February 2003 killing and claims Clarkson committed suicide.

Lillienfeld showed the court photos of an empty holster in the open drawer of a bureau near the spot where Clarkson died, and testified the gun was a perfect fit.

He told the hearing that Spector had two loaded blue steel handguns, an unloaded 12-gauge pump shotgun and ammunition in his home - ammunition that matched the type found in the gun that killed Clarkson.

The trial continues.
