GARRISON LEADS QUIET LIFE AFTER MANSLAUGHTER GUILTY PLEA

Actor LANE GARRISON is trying to remain positive by 'surrounding himself with friends' after pleading guilty to vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence last month (May07).

The 27-year-old has been leading a quiet life in recent months, spending time with his Prison Break co-star Amaury Nolascu.

In December 2006, Vahagn Sedian was a passenger in Garrison's Land Rover when the actor lost control of the vehicle and crashed after leaving a pre-Christmas party. The 17-year-old was later pronounced dead in hospital.

As well as the vehicular manslaughter charge, Garrison also pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and to providing alcohol to a minor.

If found guilty, he faces a maximum prison sentence of six years and eight months. Garrison is free on $100,000 (GBP50,000) bail and is due back in court on 2 August (07).

His friend Nolascu insists Garrison is determined to "make amends" for what has happened.

Nolasco tells website People.com, "He's doing great, under the circumstances. He doesn't hang out much. I see him privately, like when I took him out to lunch today, hung out and spoke to him. Just go out and give my support. He's my boy.

"It's sad. It's just sad what happened to both parties. Of course, there's a life lost.

"Lane is a phenomenal kid who made a mistake. He is holding on, under the circumstances. He is surrounding himself with his friends.

"He is very deeply sorry, of course. He's stepping up to the plate and taking whatever the consequences. He wants to help make amends."
