SOUL STAR THOMPSON DIES

Soul singer Tony Thompson was discovered dead on Friday (01Jun07) of a suspected drug overdose. He was 31.

The Hi-Five star was found outside an apartment complex at around 10:00 pm local time in his hometown of Waco, Texas.

The cause of death has yet to be confirmed.

Thompson and Hi-Five had a number one hit in 1990 with I Like The Way (The Kissing Game). The group split in 1994 but reunited and released a new album The Return in 2006 on Thompson's record label N'Depth.

He was reportedly working on material for a solo album.
