GEORGE MICHAEL'S PRAGUE CONCERT CANCELLED

British pop star GEORGE MICHAEL was forced to scrap a concert in the Czech Republic on Saturday (02May07) when a vehicle carrying vital stage equipment crashed.

The former Wham! star was due to wow fans in Prague but the collision meant his stage could not be built on time.

Concert promoter Petr Novak says, "Unfortunately a large part of the special podium remained trapped in the truck and it was not possible to replace it."

The vehicle careered off the road in Romania but no further details of either the accident or when the gig will be rescheduled have been given.
