SPIDER-MAN MAGUIRE REBELLED AGAINST FIT FAST WITH SUGAR FIX

SPIDER-MAN TOBEY MAGUIRE had to recondition his body after shooting the first sequel to the comic book superhero franchise after giving up his strict fitness regime and diving for doughnuts.

Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in 'Spider-Man 3'

The actor spent years counting calories and training relentlessly to get into shape to play Peter Parker's heroic alter-ego, but admits he cracked when Spider-Man 2 wrapped - because he could no longer take his superfit regime.

He tells the new Elle magazine, "I was like, 'Give me doughnuts...' I was eating lots of sugar, and I was out of shape. I guess that went on for a little over six months."

Maguire rebounded to get back into shape for Spider-Man 3 after his eating habits started to gross him out.

He adds, "I felt so much better once I got a handle on it... It took six months to correct what I'd done to my body."
