LATINO SONGWRITER SALGADO SHOT
Latino songwriter/producer FABIO ALONSO SALGADO has been shot by one of his employees.
The music impresario - who has worked with Ricky Martin and Shakira - was critically wounded in the chest and the back of the head following the attack at around 11:30pm on Friday (25May07) by 29-year-old Francisco Oliveria, who was delivering marijuana to Salgado.
Salgado was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where his condition was described as "near fatal", but was able to speak to police and identify the gunman.
Oliveria, who had been employed by Salgado for five years as a handyman. is reportedly being charged with attempted murder, and is currently being held at the Miami-Dade County Jail.
Salgado, known also as Estefano, has also worked with Gloria Estefan, Enrique Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony.
