ROLLING STONES MONEY MANAGER RETIRES

The man credited with making The ROLLING STONES millionaires has retired after 37 years as the legendary rockers' business manager.

Aristocratic financier Prince Rupert Loewenstein, known in financial circles as 'the human calculator', helped to rescue the Stones in 1970 when they landed in serious financial trouble with the Inland Revenue.

Loewenstein also freed the band from bad management and record deals and helped them secure a $25 million (GBP12.5 million) contract with CBS Records.

Since then, the Sir Mick Jagger-fronted band have amassed an estimated $2 billion (GBP1 billion) fortune.

A spokesman for the band says, "Prince Rupert Loewenstein is no longer taking care of The Rolling Stones day-to-day business but is currently retained on some aspects of their career."
