MAYER TURNS STAND-UP COMEDIAN

Rocker JOHN MAYER wowed fans at a performance in New York City on Saturday night (19May07) - as a stand-up comedian.

Mayer entertained the audience at the Comedy Cellar club just days after he 'split' with on/off girlfriend Jessica Simpson, although the couple has since been spotted together.

During his routine, Mayer made fun of his music and life as a singleton.

He quipped, "I don't wash my clothes to make them cleaner, I wash them to make them tighter - that's what makes me single. Guys, I don't have a washer-dryer, I have a wetter-tightener."
