LATEST: Veteran musician BO DIDDLEY is out intensive care, just eight days after suffering a stroke.
Doctors at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, said the singer/songwriter/guitarist's condition has improved enough to be moved into a regular room.
The 78-year-old, who has a history of hypertension and diabetes, was admitted after showing signs of disorientation following a concert at Harrah's Casino in Council Bluffs, Iowa earlier this month (13May07).
But Faith Fusillo, Diddley's business manager, insists the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is improving fast. She says, "I was able to speak with him by phone this morning. He wanted to know where his stuff was: his guitar and the money from the gig.
"I was so happy because this is the Bo that I know and love, and a real indication that Bo is on his way back."
Diddley's publicist Susan Clary expects the musician to be transferred to Shands Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida, near his hometown of Archer, Florida, soon.
