LATEST: Socialite PARIS HILTON will serve at least 23 days in jail for violating her probation by driving with a suspended license, the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department has announced.
Hilton received a 45 day sentence earlier this month (May07), but officials last week (ends11May07) said she might be processed in and out of jail within hours due to overcrowding.
However, spokesman Steve Whitmore yesterday (16May07) said, "The Sheriff's Department is announcing that Ms. Hilton will do a minimum of 23 days in jail. The possibility that she will be processed in and out in a day is over.
"She will do her full time, minus 22 days because of a state jail policy encouraging good inmate behaviour."
Hilton is currently in the process of appealing her jail sentence, which she must begin serving by 5 June (07).
