THE MAMAS + THE PAPAS, REDDING + KOOPER INDUCTED INTO ROCKWALK
Sixties band THE MAMAS + THE PAPAS, soul great OTIS REDDING and rocker AL KOOPER have been inducted into Hollywood's RockWalk.
All three acts played the legendary Monterey Festival in California in 1967 and were inducted into the RockWalk on Friday (11May07) to mark the 40th anniversary of the event.
Redding's widow Zelma Redding and daughter Karla Redding-Andrews received a plaque on behalf of the late musician, who was inducted posthumously - he died in a plane crash in December 1967.
Singer Michelle Phillips, the only surviving member of The Mamas + The Papas, said at the ceremony, "I'm a little overwhelmed that I'm really the only one here. I know that I can speak for all of us when I thank all of you very much for being here."
Blues Project and Blood, Sweat + Tears star Kooper was also in attendance.
