THIRD WOMAN TESTIFIES SPECTOR PULLED A GUN ON HER
LATEST: PHIL SPECTOR threatened a photographer with a gun and held her hostage in a hotel room, the music producer's murder trial heard yesterday (09May07).
Stephanie Jennings is the third woman prosecutors have called up to show Spector has a history of pulling firearms on women.
She told the Los Angeles hearing she met up with Spector for the 1995 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductions in New York, and that he rented her a room on his floor of the city's Carlisle Hotel.
Jennings said Spector became "extremely drunk, obnoxious" at a party and that, later, a bodyguard knocked on her hotel room door to say Spector wanted her to come to his room.
When she refused, the court heard a "definitely drunk... loud and demanding" Spector showed up at Jennings' room and began shouting at her, before following her into the bathroom where he pushed her and she fell onto the toilet.
Jennings said, "I jumped up and I grabbed him and he fell into the bathtub."
At this point, Spector was said to have silently left, only to return brandishing a gun, at which point "he pulled a chair and put it in front of the door and said I wasn't going anywhere".
Jennings said she sat on the bed crying and picked up a phone to call the police, when a confused Spector said, "You can call your mom all you want, she can't help you now."
When cops arrived, Jennings claimed they didn't take her accusations seriously and treated her like a "call girl".
She decided not to press charges, and admitted accepting an invitation from Spector to attend the same event the following year (06), but only on the condition she wouldn't see him.
Jennings claims the music mogul left a number of "horrible" phone messages for her and threatened to ruin her career.
Spector is accused of the fatal shooting of actress Lana Clarkson at his Alhambra, California home in February 2003. He has pleaded not guilty and claims Clarkson committed suicide.
The trial continues.
