The estate of rock guitarist 'DIMEBAG' DARRELL ABBOTT has reached a settlement in a wrongful death lawsuit filed against the club, where the former Pantera star lost his life in a shooting.
Abbott was killed when an obsessed fan went crazy at the Alrosa Villa nightclub in Columbus, Ohio during a Damageplan show in December 2004.
The guitarist's family members claimed in their suit that the owners of the Alrosa Villa were negligent in allowing 25-year-old Nathan Gale to enter the club with a gun and reach the stage, where he killed four people and injured several others before he was shot dead by an off-duty police officer.
According to local newspaper the Columbus Dispatch, the family suit was settled last week when the Abbotts agreed to a "nominal settlement".
In a statement, club manager Rick Cautela said, "What happened here on December 8, 2004, was a tragedy for everyone and our hearts go out to the victims and their families. There is nothing we could have done to stop it."
