Music producer MARK RONSON has received death threats after covering a SMITHS track as his first single.
The hip-hop star has released a mish-mash of The Smiths' Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before and The Supremes' You Just Keep Me Hanging On, featuring the vocals of Australian singer Daniel Merriweather.
Ronson admits he has been threatened with violence by angry Smiths fans who hate the song Stop Me.
He says, "The worst one read, 'I want to stab you in the eye.'"
