SIR SEAN CONNERY has given his support to Scottish nationalists in a bid to help the political party with their campaign to gain independence from Britain.
The former James Bond star, 76, proved his loyalty to his nation by appearing on camera for the launch of the Scottish National Party (SNP)'s internet television channel.
And by giving the party his full backing, Connery hopes the SNP will become the largest party in the Scottish parliament, and lead the region to full independence by 2010.
He says, "I know that the SNP is Scotland's party and it has the right ideas to make positive things happen for Scotland.
"Together we can open the door to a new era of optimism and progress for all. There will never be a better opportunity than now."
Connery has previously recorded telephone messages for various political campaigns for the SNP, but has never before been featured on film.
