STONEHENGE BOSSES CANCEL RYAN ADAMS CONCERT

Rocker RYAN ADAMS has been forced to scrap plans to play a historic concert at Stonehenge in England following fears from organisers that the show would be too big.

The singer/songwriter was scheduled to perform at the ancient Wiltshire stone circle site as part of the Salisbury International Arts Festival on 5 June (07), but organisers have now pulled the plug on the event.

English Heritage bosses hoped to changed the venue, citing "public safety reasons," after fearing non-ticket holders might try to watch the show from the nearby main road, causing traffic chaos.

But now Adams has axed his Salisbury festival show completely.

In a statement, Stonehenge director PETER CARSON says, "We are very sorry that Ryan Adams will not be able to perform at Stonehenge, but the demand for tickets was both unprecedented and unforeseen, and we have to put public safety first."
