IMUS SUSPENDED OVER RACIST COMMENT

LATEST: US radio talk show presenter DON IMUS has been suspended from his IMUS IN THE MORNING show after making an on-air racial slur during his syndicated show last week (ends06APR07).

The disgraced presenter was attacked by his own bosses at WFANAM after calling the players on Rutgers University women's basketball team "nappy headed hos" during his Thursday (05APR07) broadcast.

He apologised for his comments on Friday (06APR07), but that didn't stop African-American leaders in America calling for his dismissal over the weekend.

Imus appeared on REVD AL SHARPTON's radio show yesterday (09APR07), where he apologised again and accepted his comments shouldn't be dismissed.

The radio personality's suspension will begin next Monday (16APR07).
