THE RUMBLE STRIPS STAR ARRESTED

The frontman for up-and-coming British rockers THE RUMBLE STRIPS frontman was arrested in Austin, Texas on Saturday (17MAR07) after attempting to enter a nightclub through a window.

CHARLIE WALLER embarked on a 16-hour drinking session after his band's performance at the South By Southwest festival, and was refused entry into a local club due to his drunkenness. When he tried to climb through an open window, bouncers called the police, and Waller was forced to spend an evening in jail."

He says, "After our last show I had a couple of small drinks to celebrate and later on in the evening I got into a competition with the bouncers at Maggie Mays whilst trying to get into the venue, where my not-so-p**sed mates were watching a band.

"The bouncers said I was too drunk to get in, but I kept trying and I managed to get past them four times - and was thrown out four times.

"Finally, I saw a side window so decided to try and climb through it without them seeing me. Unfortunately they did, called the police and I was arrested.

"I shared a cell overnight with five big Texan blokes. They were very gentle with me. We swapped MySpace addresses in the morning before I left and got my flight home."
