THE WALKMEN FRONTMAN ARRESTED AT SXSW

The frontman of American rockers THE WALKMEN was arrested at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas on Thursday (15MAR07) after a drinking binge in his hotel.

HAMILTON LEITHAUSER is unsure what he did to cause Crown Plaza Austin hotel bosses to call the cops, who threw him in Travis County Jail for 12 hours - but he insists it was a "misunderstanding".

He says, "I got arrested and spent 12 hours in a jail cell. It was a real treat!"

Leithauser was released the following day - in time to perform with his band at the festival.
