Mexican acoustic guitar duo RODRIGO Y GABRIELA have been forced to cancel a string of appearances in the US after being unable to secure work visas.
The pair, known for their duelling acoustic guitar instrumentals, is made up of Ireland-based Mexicans RODRIGO SANCHEZ and GABRIELA QUINTERO.
The former buskers have a cult following around the world but fans in America will have to wait to see them live - thanks to red-tape issues.
Their manager explains Sanchez was trying to renew his work visa when it was put on hold because he has a name similar to a wanted criminal.
CHRIS TETZELI, the duo's record label head, adds, "He's absolutely clean. It's just this name confusion."
The duo were forced to cancel shows at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, a festival in Florida and dates in Georgia, Tennessee and Washington.
Tetzeli adds, "There was a lot of anticipation going into these dates. The timing is pretty rough."
