NOTORIOUS B.I.G MARKS 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF DEATH AT NUMBER ONE

Dead rapper NOTORIOUS B.I.G is back at the top of the US album chart after taking his new GREATEST HITS package to number one.

The slain rap star latest release debuts at the top with opening week sales of 99,000.

The latest number one, Biggie's third, coincides with the 10th anniversary of his death (09MAR96), and comes in 7,000 sales ahead of Canadian rockers ARCADE FIRE's number two debut NEON BIBLE. Also debuting in the top five is country star GARY ALLAN's GREATEST HITS, which bows at five with 70,000 sales.

In a good week for new releases, RELIENT K and KORN also enter the top 10 at numbers six and nine respectively.

Korn's latest album hit, MTV UNPLUGGED, is the group's seventh top 10 entry.
