NELSON LAUNCHES LABEL WITH SONS' BAND

Country legend WILLIE NELSON is giving his sons LUKAS and MICAH a musical boost after signing them to his new Pedernales Records label.

The Nelson siblings' band, 40 POINTS, will be the first signing to the label.

The country great will officially announce the details of his new record company at the South By SouthWest Music + Media Conference in Austin, Texas on Friday (16MAR07).

Nelson tells Billboard.com he also hopes to use the label to release a collection of his own lost recordings.

He explains, "I have a whole lot of material I've recorded over the last 25 years in my studio in Texas, and it's just laying there."
