Hurley's beloved father MAJOR ROY HURLEY died in 1996 and the model/actress asked close friend SIR ELTON JOHN to step in for her dad during the church blessing at Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire.

She says, "Dad died ten years ago. I worshipped him and the one thing that has made me sad all day is that he's not here.

"However, Elton made a fabulous substitute and I felt very safe and secure in his hands."

During his speech at the reception, John paid tribute to Elizabeth, saying, "Together Roy and ANGELA (Elizabeth's mother) have produced the most beautiful daughter who I have known for a long, long time. We have been through a lot of ups and downs and we have had a lot of fun and I have grown to know Elizabeth like a sister.

"If your father was here, he would be so proud of you and what you have achieved, what you have done and the dignity you have shown in your life. And the moral courage you have displayed as a mother and a woman. And I wish he were here because he would have been so, so proud of you."
