Christian singer CHRIS TOMLIN looks set to build on last year's (06) Dove Awards success - he's leading nominations for the next gospel music ceremony with nine nods.
Tomlin, who was crowned 2006 Artist Of The Year, is in the running for the prize again in April (27APR07). He's also tipped for Song Of The Year, Pop/Contemporary Song Of The Year for MADE TO WORSHIP, Praise And Worship Album and Pop/Contemporary Album for SEE THE MORNING, and Special Event Album for PASSION: EVERYTHING GLORIOUS, among others.
The thrilled singer says, "I'm really blown away by the nominations and the recognition for the music.
"In our world and culture of music that seems to be all about making a name for yourself, it's an honour to carry the message of the everlasting God and his unending fame."
Other leading nominees for the Nashville, Tennessee ceremony include JARS OF CLAY and THE CRABB FAMILY with six and five nods respectively.
Former BACKSTREET BOY and contemporary Christian artist BRIAN LITTRELL will co-host the show.
