AGREEMENT REACHED ON BROWN BURIAL

LATEST: The six adult children of soul singer JAMES BROWN have come to an agreement with his partner, TOMI RAE HYNIE, on where the music legend should be buried.

Hynie's attorney, ROBERT ROSEN, said the location of Brown's final resting place will not be revealed at the request of his children.

Brown died on Christmas Day (25DEC06) at the age of 73 and his body has been embalmed and kept at an undisclosed location while awaiting burial, which is expected to take place "in the next few days".

Meanwhile, a South Carolina judge ruled yesterday (20FEB07) that trustees accused of mismanaging his estate could continue handling his property and trust.

The singer's six adult children were in an Aiken County court last week (ends16FEB07) in an attempt to remove three trustees.

The children and Brown's partner, TOMI RAE HYNIE, asked the court to appoint a special administrator to oversee the trust.

Judge DOYET EARLY agreed, saying such an administrator, "will protect the estate by permitting all claims to be pursued and investigated with the required due diligence, and will assist this court in assessing the proper administration of the estate."

Brown's trust is said to contain most of his primary assets, including the late singer's music rights and his large Beech Island estate and is separate from Brown's will, which was filed last week (ends16FEB07).
