FRANTIC SPEARS NEARLY MISSED FLIGHT
A disheveled BRITNEY SPEARS was on the verge of tears when she learned she might miss her flight from Miami, Florida to Los Angeles on Friday (16FEB07).
The 25-year-old ran through Miami International Airport with two small bags, desperate to catch her American Airlines flight home.
When she arrived at the gate and handed her boarding pass to the ticket agent, she was informed that the walkway had been retracted from the plane and the flight was closed.
DAVID PAULSEN, a passenger at an adjoining gate, tells American publication People, "She was really upset.
"She (said) to the agent, 'I've got to get on this plane to get home to my kids.' She looked like she was about to cry."
The ticket agent called the pilot directly and requested that Spears be allowed to board the flight saying, "I've got Britney Spears here and she wants to get on the plane."
A few seconds later, the walkway was extended again and the TOXIC star was allowed to board.
Because the flight was nearly full, Spears was not able to travel in first class and instead settled for a seat in the last row of coach.
As the pop star was about to board the plane, she stopped to give an autograph to the agent, and then turned to the gathered crowd and waved goodbye saying, "God bless!"
