SPEARS STYLIST SPEAKS OUT ABOUT BUZZ-CUT

LATEST: The owner of the Los Angeles hair salon where BRITNEY SPEARS shaved her hair off has blamed the star's impulsive behaviour on a 'hormonal moment'.

The 25-year-old singer, who is the mother of two young sons, showed up at ESTHER TOGNOZZI's hair salon at 7pm local time on Friday (16FEB07) for the spur-of-the-moment makeover.

Tognozzi tells US entertainment show EXTRA, "Fridays are our late night and we finished working and were closing up and all of a sudden there were flashing lights outside and someone knocking on the door.

"They said Britney Spears wanted to come in. So, I let her in. I had no idea what she wanted to do at all. She sat in my chair and said, "I want all my hair shaved off.'

"I said, 'Well, I'm not doing it. Of course, I tried to talk her out of it. I said, 'Maybe you're having a hormonal moment or something and maybe tomorrow you'll feel differently about it.'

"She said, 'No, I want to shave it off.' So while I was talking to her bodyguard, she grabbed the buzzer and started buzzing her own hair."

Tognozzi claims Spears appeared to show no emotion during the incident, until she talked about what her mother's reaction would be to her radical new hairdo: "Then she all of a sudden realised what she did. She was just there in body and not really emotionally there."

When asked what message she would send to Spears' mother, Tognozzi said, "I would say please take your daughter and get her off the media circus and just take her home for a while and take care of her and her babies."
