DOUGLAS GETS TECHNOLOGICAL FOR CHARITY

Hollywood star MICHAEL DOUGLAS is encouraging cultural exchange among kids by lending his support to a new technology-based project.

The 62-year-old has joined forced with Global Nomads Group, which aims to improve communications for young people around the world.

He hopes funding for initiatives like video-conferencing will improve international links, after a successful trial in 2003 with US and Iraqi students.

Douglas says, "I think it helps them (children) to understand and feel more a part of the world.
