FLAMENCO GUITARIST D'AURI DIES

World renown flamenco guitarist GINO D'AURI has died of cancer at his Los Angeles home on 26 January (07). He was 69.

D'Auri performed in arenas around the world and in more intimate settings across Los Angeles.

He was born in Rome and studied classical guitar, performing throughout Italy winning prizes in various competitions for his musical prowess.

He began studying flamenco guitar while living in Rome and later perfected his craft in Spain.

D'Auri performed across Europe before moving to Los Angeles in the late 1960s, where he played guitar in a host of clubs.

In addition to teaching music, he also made several albums, including FLAMENCO MYSTICO and PASSION + SOUL, often accompanied by cello and percussion in his recordings.
