MIRREN SHOCKS BAFTA VIEWERS WITH F WORD

DAME HELEN MIRREN shocked viewers watching live TV coverage of stars arriving at the BAFTAs, by swearing on the red carpet.

Mirren's foul-mouthed tirade was captured during a broadcast for UK TV station Sky News before the ceremony began - despite a reporters' pleas for her not to use foul language.

The journalist warned Mirren Sky News was "a channel where people don't swear" - to which she replied, "Where people don't swear? F**king nutbag!"

But the award-winning star quickly apologised for her gaffe, saying, "Is it (the broadcast) live? I'm sorry - I do apologise.

"That was an appalling thing to do. It was a joke and I take it back."
