FONTANA'S GIG BLAST

Sixties pop star WAYNE FONTANA launched into a bitter verbal attack on audience members at a gig in England last weekend (3/4FEB07), just days after he was charged with arson.

The 61-year-old was performing at a Swinging Sixties event in Berkshire when he began shouting and swearing at stunned fans.

Fontana first complained about being charged with setting fire to a car with a bailiff inside, saying he felt like the "Jews had been treated by the Nazis".

When an audience member told him to stop moaning and start singing, he yelled, "F**king hell, have you got an appointment or something?"

His band THE MINDBENDERS began playing, in a bid to calm the star - but he then directed his attack on them.

A fan says, "It was disgusting. He ranted on for five minutes. He was swearing and screaming."

The GAME OF LOVE hitmaker will return to court to face charges on Wednesday (14FEB07). He faces 14 years in prison if convicted.
