TIMBERLAKE FIGHTS THE FLU

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE was forced to miss out on music mogul CLIVE DAVIS' annual pre-Grammy Awards party in Los Angeles on Saturday night (10FEB07) - to battle a severe cold.

Timberlake was among the stars scheduled to perform at the Beverly Hilton bash, but pulled out, citing flu symptoms. He was replaced by pals the BLACK EYED PEAS.

Representatives for the CRY ME A RIVER singer said he felt sick and wanted to make sure he was in good health for his performance at the Grammys, where he will perform tonight (11FEB07) with a talent competition winner.

The pop superstar fell ill after performing at his own pre-Grammy party on Friday night (09FEB07) at Hollywood's Avalon theatre.

PARIS HILTON, DIDDY, KID ROCK, NICK LACHEY, WESLEY SNIPES and Black Eyed Peas star WILL.I.AM were among the celebrity guests.

Meanwhile, Timberlake's no-show didn't wreck producer/svengali Davis's big party - CHRISTINA AGUILERA and AKON performed live, with PINK stunning invite-only guests with a an acoustic performance of JANIS JOPLIN's ME + BOBBY McGHEE.

Meanwhile, party host Davis made two trips down the red carpet - first with DREAMGIRLS star JENNIFER HUDSON, who will record her first album with the music legend next month (MAR07), and later with WHITNEY HOUSTON on his arm.

But it was indie darling IMOGEN HEAP, who stole the show on the red carpet - she turned up to Davis' party wearing huge platform heels that left her head and shoulders above other guests.
