ART PRODIGY FILM WINS BIG DEAL AT SUNDANCE
A documentary about a four-year-old art prodigy has become the big hit of this year's (07) Sundance Film Festival in Utah.
Producer/director AMIR BAR-LEV's study of abstract artist MARLA OLMSTEAD, MY KID COULD PAINT THAT, has landed a major distribution deal with Sony Pictures Classics after wowing independent film fans at Sundance.
The film follows Olmstead's family as they fight to prove the four-year-old's abstract paintings are all her own work.
The budding JACKSON POLLOCK's paintings sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars before her father was accused of secretly having a hand in the work.
A spokesman for Sony Pictures Classics says, "This is a very beautiful and exhilarating film about so much: children, their parents, the value of art, and the nature of truth in all its guises."
