FORMER BAY CITY ROLLERS MANAGER FINED FOR SUPPLYING CANNABIS

Former BAY CITY ROLLERS manager TOM PATON was yesterday (22JAN06) fined GBP20,000 ($38,000) for supplying cannabis to two friends.

The ruling brings to a close a four-year court battle which also saw the 68-year-old ordered to surrender GBP180,000 ($342,000) in "crime proceeds" last month (DEC06).

Paton said outside Scotland's Edinburgh High Court, "We've got a wonderful justice system.

"I'll never get involved in anything like that again. Let it be a lesson to people."
