PERRY'S HEIRS FIGHT OVER FORTUNE

The children of country music songwriter DARRELL `WAYNE' PERRY are accusing their TV-evangelist aunt of promising to use her healing powers to cure their father's cancer and then stealing their inheritance.

The heirs of Perry, whose songs include TIM McGRAW's NOT A MOMENT TOO SOON, allege their aunt said she had been healed of breast cancer through prayer and promised she would help heal their father the same way.

Perry died of throat cancer in 2005 at the age of 55.

TV evangelist DARLENE BISHOP said on her official website that she denies the claims against her.

Bishop preaches across the US and has a weekly half-hour television show called SISTERS that airs in more than 200 countries on Christian networks.

Perry's children believe he left them as much as $750,000 (GBP385,000) and that Bishop, as executor, has refused to follow his wishes in distributing the money to his heirs.

In addition to McGraw's 1994 number one song, Perry also wrote TOBEY KEITH's A WOMAN'S TOUCH in 1996 and co-wrote LORRIE MORGAN's 1992 hit WHAT PART OF NO."
