PRESTON EXPLAINS DECISION TO STORM OFF TV QUIZ

British rocker SAMUEL PRESTON has defended his decision to walk out of a taping of satirical BBC TV quiz show NEVER MIND THE BUZZCOCKS on Wednesday (10JAN07) - if he had stayed he would have punched host SIMON AMSTELL.

The ORDINARY BOYS frontman became upset when Amstell sarcastically began reading extracts from his wife CHANTELLE HOUGHTON's book LIVING THE DREAM.

He says, "If it was any other situation I would have hit him and knocked him out. Obviously, I didn't want to resort to those sorts of things, so I just had to remove myself from the situation.

"If I'd had to look at his snotty little public schoolboy failed-career face, I would have hit him. He's got no charm."

Preston met Houghton on UK reality TV show CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER last January (06). The couple wed in August (06).
