British royal PRINCESS BEATRICE is "shocked" after learning the head of her school's history department has been arrested on suspicion of being an internet paedophile.
RICHARD FINDLEY, 42, teaches at St George's School in Ascot, England. He is on police bail following his arrest last Friday (05JAN07) for allegedly trying to "incite a child to engage in sexual activity".
Beatrice, the 18-year-old daughter of PRINCE ANDREW and granddaughter of QUEEN ELIZABETH II, was told the news by her mother SARAH FERGUSON, DUCHESS OF YORK.
A royal spokeswoman says, "The Duchess has informed Beatrice of the arrest and she is shocked by the news."
The school's headmistress CAROLINE JORDAN adds, "We have suspended an employee pending further police enquiries."
