EAGLES FILE LAWSUIT OVER MISUSED HIT

American rockers THE EAGLES have filed a $537,000 (GBP275,400) lawsuit against a South Korean insurance company, after it used one of their hits without permission.

Band members DON HENLEY and GLENN FREY are claiming Korea Life Insurance illegally used hit DESPERADO as background music to an advertisement - but the company were unaware they had broken the law.

The insurers believe they had successfully secured a deal with The Eagles' agent prior to the song being used in the advert.

An official for Korea Life says, "Our domestic advertising agent, Hancomm, had negotiated with the US band. We thought the deal was closed."

PARK SEUNG-JIN, a spokesperson for ad agency Hancomm, is supporting the company's beliefs and plans to appeal.

He says, "I believe there might have been either a misunderstanding or miscommunication between the two sides.

"We will take action after receiving related documents from the court."
