MISS USA CONNER IN MORE TROUBLE

LATEST: MISS USA TARA CONNER spent her 21st birthday yesterday (18DEC06) fearing the worst - after reportedly failing a drugs test that could cost her her crown.

The Kentucky beauty, who hit the headlines after a string of wild antics in New York bars, will learn of her fate later today (19DEC06) when Miss USA pageant owner DONALD TRUMP makes his decision as to whether or not Conner should keep her crown.

But insiders insist Trump made up his mind weeks ago after Conner's wild nights hit New York's newspapers, along with suggestions her friendship with MISS TEEN USA KATIE BLAIR had turned too serious after the couple were caught kissing in a club, according to news website TMZ.com.

Representatives for both beauty queens insist allegations about the pageant winners being more than just friends are completely unfounded.

But now Conner, who was crowned Miss USA in April (06), has failed a drug test for cocaine, according to the New York Daily News.

Insiders claim Trump will insist Conner steps down as Miss USA today and hand the crown to runner-up, Miss California TAMIKO NASH.

Trump's decision could work out well for Conner - she has been offered a big-money deal to strip for men's magazine Penthouse. That's something she would never have been permitted to do as a reigning Miss USA.
