NICOLAS CAGE: 'I COULD HAVE BEEN A SAILOR'

Movie star NICOLAS CAGE dreamed of becoming a sailor when he was a kid and admits he could still give up acting and head for the high seas.

The MOONSTRUCK actor regrets he didn't follow his boating dreams through and now he hopes his son will develop a passion for the ocean.

Cage says, "As a kid, I knew I wanted to be at sea, on the ocean in some way. There was a time there where if I hadn't succeeded as an actor, I was ready to join the merchant marines and try to have a life at sea or some other occupation on the water - fishing or something.

"The sailors are the kings of the ocean. I don't sail. I have a motorboat. I hope my young son gets into sailing."
